Why does Hollywood portray the immaculate conception as becoming pregnant without sex?
I feel like I've been deceived for years. I've heard Hollywood movies refer to the immaculate conception in this way many times, when that's not the definition at all. One of my coworkers at lunch was complaining of having symptoms of being pregnant but hasn't had sex recently. I said, "Maybe it's immaculate conception." Another coworker corrected me and told me that immaculate conception is Mary being born without sin. I looked it up on the internet and she's right. Why is this term so misused? Am I the only one who didn't know the true meaning?
